About Me
I thoroughly believe in playing my best soccer through enjoyment and I always look to enjoy my time on the field with friends and coaches, building strong bonds and creating a real sense of camaraderie, something I believe team’s thrive on. I also believe in working hard, never getting complacent and trying to get the most out of the people around me through constructive support, both off and on the field. However, the ‘student’ in ‘student-athlete’ comes first and I’m never complacent, allowing my grades to slip. I’m a curious student and always look to get the most out of my lessons and try to read around my subjects to grasp a greater understanding whilst maintaining playing 3 sports to high standards. INTERVIEW
How am I different? Having played rugby for 8 years with the last of those two years having played at state academy levels (U16s, U17s) this sets my physicality above from other recruits when combined with my touch and passing , leaving me difficult to get off the ball, however, perhaps more importantly, playing rugby has meant my discipline has come into my soccer. Having played with rugby referees, I do not complain when a mistake is made and I always listen to my coach, so as not to suffer a penalty or a booking. I always strive to encourage my team mates, no one is perfect but I believe complaining achieves nothing positive. Furthermore, my power I derive from my gym work is utilised in rugby, soccer and I believe can make me a powerful football candidate
The main reason I aspire to play collegiate soccer in America, in addition to the professionalism and high levels of soccer on display, is the camaraderie I have seen in each and every collegiate soccer programme thus far and, personally, this is the most important aspect for me. In addition, I'd like to further my soccer skills and , if possible, further my soccer career along side getting a high level education.
Ideally I’d like to be able to go to an academically thriving college and get the best out of my education, maintaining a high GPA throughout the years at college and get a real experience for what college life is all about in the USA.
