Lacrosse has been a key college sport since the 1870s, and today there are nearly 300 programmes for men and over 350 for women. Students train for up to three hours a day, whilst maintaining a full academic schedule. And academy teams compete in a busy calendar of elite level intercollegiate matches for the National Championship titles in each of the sport’s three divisions.
While the number of foreign college lacrosse players remains low, university coaches do recruit worldwide and are always looking for special talents who might develop into great players over in America.
